Wondering through the flu
Today I wonder...
Since I am feeling under the weather ( where did that term even come from? Hmmm..) I decided I should explore the cause of the common flu and maybe get a lil insight on the culprit that's messin with my head. I feel like my head has been converted into a water catchment area and if I did a headstand (hehe.. Sofia!), all the water would rest on the upper part of my skull and eventual splash out through my head! Sighh.. all the SAW images have rewired my thinking. Everything has potential to be turned into a gore fest!
so here's my half hearted research :-
What causes influenza?
The flu is caused by three types (strains) of viruses - influenza
I guess I come under Type B eh? or Is it Type C? Sigh.. whatever type I am, It better end soon. It's disrupting my already scattered thinking process.
In other news...
A US army major killed 11 people and wounded at least 30 others in a bloody rampage at Fort Hood military base in Texas. The only shooter is still alive according to the base commander and is in hospital after undergoing surgery for his wounds.
Apparently the shooter is an army psychiatrist named Major Nidal Malik Hasan. So immediately, our minds race to fill in the gaps - 'He must be planted there to kill from the inside because ALL MUSLIMS are terrorists and blood thirsty'. But look at the facts, his cousin said that Major Nidal's worst nightmare is to be deployed to Iraq. And we must ask ourselves, why? Why do American Muslims feel so frightened to serve their country; country in which they were born in, and grew up in? A place which built their value system, defined them. Doesn't it make you wonder, that maybe Non-Muslims from America just maybe fueling the terror by their prejudice and discriminatory ways. IF Major Nidal wasn't treated with accusing eyes and discrimination, maybe the psychiatrist wouldn't turn psycho. Afterall, he was human too. I'm not justifying his act, I'm merely wondering about what could the cause be.
Makes you also wonder about the life of Muslim Americans in America and the Defense Industry now huh? I hope they highlight that point, rather than the fact that he was Muslim.
By the way....
I read through alot of different ideas of where the phrase came from but I like this the best!
Under the Weather - the phrase under the weather originally had nothing to do with weather. The correct phrase is under the wether. It refers to the fact that female sheep resist the efforts of the castrated male sheep (Wether) to mount them. When the female is so ill that she cannot resist the wether's attentions, she is literally under the wether.
SAW VI. all the gore.. little brain
Went to watch SAW VI yesterday. It was the preview and Addy won tickets on Friday.com. Which basically means a whole bunch of gay people in the cinema being totally traumatised. That show is all about the gore. It wasn't fascinatingly thought-provoking or anything (maybe cause Jigsaw kicked the bucket?) but it sure had its more than fair share of gore. I mean, the first scene itself had a dude slicing his fucking fats off. That is insane! But it does make you wonder - Is it true that you will only appreciate life when you are faced with death?
Anyway I went to do alil reading up on the movie trailer because I am sick and seriously am brain dead, so am at home trying to make my blog all fancied up but tryna do it in the simplest manner as possible. I chanced upon this Fan Website for the SAW series. I think it kinda sums up what I think- SAW Movie Fan Site.
Bu hey if you are all for gore, people butchering their own limbs, bone crushing and all that fun stuff, it comes highly reccommended. The direction is nothing to rave about cause you know, when the wonderful series comes down to this, it's a final ditch attempt to milk the series for its money.
I have to say this tho, it's Man's sickest torture fantasies materialized.
And guess what else I found out:
"Well, it’s official, even before the new Saw movie comes out, Variety has told the world that Saw 7 has been given the green light. According to reports, the new movie is to begin production in January of 2010 and they are going to be filming the new project in 3-D. Yes, the Saw series is going to the next level of kitsch; they are showing you a 3-D horror film." - SAW Movie Fan Site
Sick people.. Rejoice!
Ok.. This Friday - Paranormal.
I am such a chicken shit, I don't know why do I do this to my little heart? The hassles of a Free Loader!
I learnt a new word:-
infallible [ɪnˈfæləbəl]

busy.. busy .. busy
Have you woke up in the morning and believed that everything is gona be alright? Well these is one of those days. it is truly quite an amazing day. I know I haven't really doin' much blogging lately and that's because I've been crazy with work. All kindsa work. The girls I'm tutoring are have exams, my company's got immense amount of paper work to get done and I still have to get over my final leg of school! yay!
There's a certain jingle on radio right now that's driving me nuts! ' let's make our world the most beautifullll hommmmee'.. STOP!
Anyway, went to BELLINI at St James Power station for Halloween wit Bie and her friends. It was all good but the crowd was abit dead-er than expected. What's going on?!I had 5 shots, 3 glasses of wine and 2 bottom-uped whiskey coke; and I remained perfectly sober.
Seriosly, what's going on?! Such a waste of moolah. Next time, I'm sticking to beer. Dependable ol' beer.
Anyway, some time back, discovered a quaint lil place at arab st - THE NEXT DOOR CAFE. Its quite cool actually. It's very cosy and they had UNO! I was sold. The pizza is really good and of course, they didn't need that. They had beer. It was love at first sight. This place is just opposite Al Majlis. The lady runnin the place was real nice. oooo but they should reconsider the placement of the toilet cos it's a bitch to get to when it's up a flight of stairs. What I really remember is that right outside the toilet, was the sign that said 'HAPPY DEEPAVALI!'-handwritten. It was damn amateurish but hey it brightened my toilet journey, especially after the long flights of stairs.
Time for me to go discover more places! Weee..hungry go where...
Addy gt tickets to SAW VI for Wednesday, so I went to check out the trailer.
sigh..decisions.decisions.it's some private screening at SHAW towers..
This weekend is all planned out for me. sounds very exciting but damn tiring as well!
